To achieve the best results and ensure a safe experience, follow these pre-treatment guidelines:
Shave the area 24 hours before your appointment – The closer the shave, the better! If it’s your first session, leave a small patch of hair so your specialist can examine it (they will shave it before treatment begins).
Bikini area? – Only shave where you want hair removed.
Skip skincare products – No makeup, lotion, or deodorant on the treatment area on the day of your appointment.
Avoid sun exposure – Stay out of direct sunlight for at least 3 days before and after your appointment.
No self-tanner or spray tan – Avoid these products for at least 2 weeks before treatment to prevent skin irritation.
Limit alcohol intake – Avoid drinking more than 2 alcoholic beverages 24 hours before treatment.
No waxing, threading, or tweezing – Avoid these methods for at least 4 weeks before treatment. Shaving is okay!
Important Notes:
- Laser treatments cannot be performed on individuals who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or trying to conceive.
- Bikini laser treatments will not be performed on menstruating clients.
After your session, you may experience temporary redness and bumps, similar to a mild sunburn. This is completely normal and should subside within a few hours. Follow these aftercare steps to ensure the best results:
Apply a cold compress if sensitivity continues.
If crusting occurs, use an antibiotic cream.
Gently cleanse the area with mild soap and pat dry (do not rub) for the first 48 hours.
No makeup, lotion, or deodorant for the first 24 hours.
Keep the treated area clean and dry – If irritation persists, avoid makeup, moisturizers, or deodorant until it subsides.
Expect hair shedding – Dead hairs will shed naturally between 5-30 days after treatment. This may look like new hair growth, but it’s simply the follicles pushing out dead hair.
Avoid sun exposure. For example, sun holidays for 4 weeks, use SPF 25+ sunscreen throughout your treatment period and after to prevent dark or light spots.
Do not pick, scratch, wax, thread, or tweeze the treated area – These methods can disrupt the laser’s effectiveness. Shaving is okay between sessions.
Hair growth varies – Most clients achieve a significant reduction after 6-9 sessions, leading to long-lasting smooth skin.
